Over the years, merchants and traders have been welcomed in the South of India but thanks to geography and an intrepid line of kings, it has been largely untouched by invasion. As a result, it has maintained its connections to the traditional past.
Art and architecture, temples, tea and spice plantations, cuisine, culture, crafts, history, markets, tropics, technology, wild life preserves, elephant herds, and lovely hotels will all be a part of our magnificent sojourn. Beyond what you read ahead there will be special events and we will learn the fine points of the cuisine with Raghavan Iyer as our talented and incredibly knowledgeable guide. Be assured we will eat well!
Our ground operator International Ventures and Travel, Inc. (IVAT) did an excellent job for us in 2005 and we are happy to be working with them again this year. They have been specialists in travel to India for over 25 years and the office staff is all of Indian origin. We have arranged to have a tour manager with us throughout the trip as well as local guides at each site. We are confident this adventure will provide you the opportunity to discover Southern India in a most unique and memorable way.
Please feel free to contact either IVAT or either of us with any questions. IVAT will also be happy to provide you with information regarding air arrangements.
Read on for more details and please consider joining us. The size of the group is limited and we have had a great deal of interest in the trip. We encourage you to act quickly so you donít miss being part of our fascinating journey.
